Another day, another opening! Denver has added a few more noteworthy restaurants to the mix that are definitely worth mentioning.
Wild Catch
What: Where fresh seafood meets the Mile High city.
Why: Landlocked states aren’t usually known for their seafood, but times are changing. Masterpiece Deli’s chef has opened a new ocean-loving masterpiece.
Paxia
What: The owners of Los Carboncitos have opened the newest Mexican restaurant in the Highlands/Sunnyside area.
Why: The homemade hot sauce, margaritas and a great happy hour will entice you to try it. The hipster-meets-Mexico ambiance and patio will keep you there for dinner, and the food will bring you back time and time again.
SaltBox Street Food
What: Artisanal comfort food…served out of a GMC Step Van.
Why: Where else can you find comfort food such as chicken schnitzel sandwiches, English muffin grilled cheeses or short rib sandwiches while running your errands around town.
Zydeco’s
What: Fiery (but healthy) Cajun bayou cuisine.
Why: It’s a great place to get some authentic N’awlins dishes like shrimp creole, bourbon chicken, classic jambalaya, and the mushrooms/green onions/béarnaise/dirty rice dish called Chicken Pontalba.
P.S. The 32nd Avenue frozen yogurt explosion
32nd Treat, Yogurt Guru, Menchies
Hope you’re ready for all the yogurt and toppings you can handle because 32nd Avenue is blowing up between LoHi and the Highlands with new frozen yogurt shops. 32nd Treat is opening right by Tejon, Menchies will open a few blocks further west at Clay Street, and even further west Yogurt Guru will open its second location in Highlands Square.
